England Trip - 2006

London
The Bar.

I almost didn't believe it existed - the bar a colleague and I found after a very late night of walking around London last December. Where, I hate to admit, we (or at least I) were desperate for a drink. Everything was closed that night. So, when we happened upon it, I thought it may have been a mirage.

But on 6/6, as I walked north from Westminster, I saw a welcoming entrance, looked in and there it was, the "International Bar". With the bench seats, the large selection of liquor, with a great overall feeling.

Of course, I revisited it, and had a drink for me, and one for the colleague who was there with me in December.

It was a great thing to do after a day at a meeting at the House of Commons, and the priviledge of having a private tour with a House employee of the "Palace" (sorry, no photos allowed).

Canterbury
Canterbury was larger than expected. I had a great day riding on a steam train to Canterbury, and the afternoon there. I met a lovely couple from the Manchester area -- Jean and Brian. It was nice to spend time with them, and they generously shared their bottle(s) of wine with me. I hope our paths cross again.
